Ten good for Boston, bad for Cubs, Angels
The Dodgers 7-2 win vs. Chicago could be a bad sign for the Cubs. Of course it hurts to lose Game 1 of any series, but the Cubs have lost ten consecutive postseason series during which they lost the first game. That streak began against the cross-town White Sox during the 1906 World Series, and it is, of course, the longest such streak in postseason history.
The Red Sox 4-2 win vs. LA was Boston's highly publicized tenth straight postseason victory over the Angels. The only other team to lose ten straight postseason games against the same opponent was, well, Boston, which lost ten in a row to Oakland from 1988-2003.
Surely one of these streaks will come to an end this postseason, right?

I hope, pray, dwell on and invoke the baseball gods that it was and IS a bad sign for the Cubs! To another 100 years!

I can't help myself, but I am really really rooting for the Cubs to make it to the World Series.. as long as it's not at the expense of the Sox! While the Red Sox didn't make it to 100 years, 86 is enough for me to appreciate what it's like watching your team go through a long spell.
